Reptile sand can cause impaction(aka blockages)in reptiles and small animals as well as other pets.It also tends to contain calcium and is often quite dusty and can also cause respiratory problems with reptiles,small animals,etc.It's a lot safer to use children's play sand or Chinchilla sand and it's also a lot cheaper to just use play sand since it can cost so little in the US and probably just as little in the UK.
