Default Re: biting

She could be a bit nervous. Remember, we are like King Kong to hamsters so I would feel the same way. Is the biting hard and painful? If it's short nips she's trying to check you out, not trying to hurt you. If the bites are actually hard and painful, she's scared. This might be scary to do, but try to let her bite you. See which one it is. If you get scared when this happens, don't show it and let her know. This will make her more scared and might do it again out of fear. If you just let her do it she might realize you're nothing to be afraid of and probably not do it again. If she keeps doing it in a harmful way, I suggest giving her time to relax and adjust. Don't put your hand in for a while and just talk to her. After a couple of days, slowly put your hand in and put a treat in her bowl (don't directly give it to her) and do this a couple of times a day. After that, try giving it directly to her. If she bites, once again, let her do it and see if it's nipping or biting. Just repeat these steps if she doesn't stop so eventually she will stop. These are part of the taming process so it might take a while. Be patient and let her take her time to get to know you

Oh and don't use the glove because it will interfere with her getting to know your scent and make the situation worse.
