I agree about not having her put down - it is a great age as the others say, and I don't think it would be a good thing to have a well hamster put down. Rehoming would be better. She is probably already sensing that things have changed, if you're not well enough to look after her. I hope you are doing ok and that things will improve for you. All you need now is a nice person to give her a home for the remainder of her days so she can live out her old age happily. Maybe email around a few friends? It's surprising what offers you can get. If no joy there then check if there's a hamster rescue nearby you.

I think the main thing, if she moves to someone else, is keep her in the same cage and don't clean it out just before she goes (maybe a week before she goes). So something is familiar for her at first.
