Yes, HMRC seem to be `contacting` people who sell on ebay asking them about how much money they make. Read this on a well known community forum not that long ago. Rediculous that people can`t now make a little money from their hobby without being harassed. They will be walking around car boot sales next.
But yes, making and selling a few every now and then to people who want one is not running a business.

Edited later in the day!: Something else I thought of was fridge magnets? These would take the silhouette body shape of the hamster (laid flat) and then built up in layers to make the body features? If you know what I mean, a bit like looking at 3D? All flat on the surface and a magnet on the back using a strong appoxy glue. A bit like making a 3D card that starts off flat and then to build the layers on top to make the chest shape, the face etc... then even adding the hamsters name below? x
