Hi racing hamster thanks for the reply. The two hamsters were in the same cage at the pet store but all of the hamsters were a rainbow of colours (my balding ham is black and his cagemate is albino) lol so I don't know if that means they are from the same litter or if they just put all the males together.
Between his last vet visit in November to currently, the only thing that has changed is his diet due to a cheek impaction, the vet recommended a change from a seed mix to oxbow and including Timothy hay for grazing. His current bedding is kaytee clean and cozy- it looks like shredded paper and doesn't seem too dusty.
