Default Re: Opinions on Beeswax to waterproof?

I would think a hamster would be more likely to chew it. Also most beeswax products sold will probably have been processed in some way to turn them into polish. Not sure if a piece of natural honeycomb wax would work - but yes I'd think it might tempt nibbling - or just smell too strong for a hamster. But I'm not 100% sure, just my opinion. Sorry, just saw you said you would be using natural organic beeswax.

The plasti-kote paint I used is clear, so the wood still looks natural. Yes I think generally if a paint is suitable for young children it is petsafe (as young children can chew things) - better if it is water-based. Not all childsafe paints will be waterproof though maybe.

I think US member Keith ordered Plasti-kote from the Uk. This is the one I got from Amazon. I didn't like the idea of using it at first, but it hardly smells of anything at all and the slight smell has worn off by next day.
