You can clip the teeth yourself but it can be tricky as the roots of the teeth can break if you're not careful, this can even happen when the vet clips them sometimes, the only alternative is grinding under anaesthetic which is too much for a little ham that needs it done on a regular basis. Clipping does sometimes requite a little sedation but my little guy was just fine without having his done so hopefully Maddie is too.
If you do decide to try it yourself do get the vet to show you how first, I wouldn't be brave enough to do it myself tbh!
