Also, now that they are back in shops in preparation for Christmas, I have put a walnut in its shell in each cage. I crack the shell and remove part of it, otherwise it might be a bit tough for my dwarf fluffs to get going on it. Then I leave the rest to them. Although the walnut is not very hard, they will use teeth and claws to get to the walnut, so that might be worth a try too.
Also the traditional Bonio dog biscuits are popular with mine. I get a bag of the
Wilkos (UK store) equivalent biscuits in the smaller size.
