Ah yes, I see the gaps at the sides now. Read a few of the Amazon reviews and they say it can be quite flimsy, although for a fiver what do they expect! I see your point though about securing it with metal screws to stop it from moving about or toppling off the stand. A little touch of Vaseline would prevent any noise if it ever starts to squeak or screech!

As far as a `ball` goes, these do seem quite fun, but the difference is, the hamster chooses to go in and come out, so it`s not like a standard hamster ball, it can be used as a running wheel, which is nice. x
