Default Re: Pet Cage Barney review

The Barney cage is now 100cm rather than 82cm so it is even better! It already comes with a shelf and a good house, so once you have a wheel you'd just be looking at:

Deep substrate for digging
A sandbath (some sort of dish with chinchilla bathing sand in it)
A few toys - cardboard tubes, anything which makes a little hidey place maybe
Plenty of white torn up toilet paper in a heap somewhere for making a nest with
A potty litter tray - optional but I'd recommend it as it can really help save on cage cleaning and reduce smells. Wait and see where your hammy chooses to make a wee corner (it is usually in a corner somewhere, and put the litter tray there with either chinchilla sand or potty litter in it and a small bit of wee'd on substrate on top and hammy will probably just start using it straight away.

I empty the potty once a week and the rest of the cage stays dry!

This is the one I got - it fits in a corner nicely and is big enough and easy to empty and refill.
