Default Re: Drastic change in behaviour?

It`s so disheartening when you know people like this who don`t learn from their mistakes. I can only say that the Syrian will be better off back in Pets At Home who will find him/her a better home, although most adoption hamsters (not all) can have issues and people like us who understand that usually adopt them.

Many people who take on a kitten or a cat can`t see what lies ahead of an animal that can live for 20+ years and as a cat ages, it can cost a good bit at the vets. I know a few owners who have had hefty vet bills for their cats due to blood tests and on going treatments such as kidney disease and old age problems. Many are left not being fed properly or even allowed into the house. Your friend sounds like the sort of person who acts on instinct and never thinks about the life span of that pet or the consequences of not having enough funds or security to keep the animal for it`s lifetime.

Thanks for coming back to the thread LifeWithPets. At least we got wee Flump a good home. x
