It is very noisy to have a hamster in your room, I have kept my Syrian in my room for a bit, my room smelled a little bad. Syrians are really noisy at night, I think Dwarf hamsters and Chinese hamsters wake up at dawn or dusk so they are not as bad, but having a Syrian in your room could mean no sleep for you at all.
