My last syrian hamster, Smokey, dissappeared from his cage, in my bedroom. I had left the cage door open
He dissappeared underneath the floorboards, and half an hour later the electric went off . I couldn't hear any sound from the hamster the whole night - devastated!
I was totally convinved I had a poor fried hamster - and a huge bill to pay to my landlord. A friend was due round the next day to have a look at the electric. Half an hour before they turned up I heard scratching noises from my bathroom, then the landing. I pulled up a pile of floorboards - and there was a very dusty smokey. He was absolutely fine. My friend found that the trip switch for the electric had turned itself - it was nothing but a coincidence that the electric had gone of just after the hamster dissappeared.
