Not as good a story as that one, but my hamster Jennings was forever getting out of his rotastak and he'd always go and hide under a cupboard in my room. We'd normally manage to tempt him out after a few hours, but sometimes we had to wait overnight.

When we moved out, a couple of years after Jennings had died we finally moved the cupboard and found a massive pile of chewed up carpet and bits of hammy food :P
