Hello Beanthehammie. I've had hamsters and gerbils for over 50 years. It never is easy to lose my furries, and some are harder than others. But none of them ever take another hammy or gerbils place. Each creates his or her own space in my heart and each is special in their own ways. Don't expect a new hammy to be like Bean. It can't happen. The new hammy will be it own self and you will love it for all kinds of reasons other than those you loved Bean for. Although it is difficult to lose them I would never stop having them. I love the little fuzzies!
Also, think about this. Bean has shown you just how wonderful his fellow hammies are. After all his effort, how can you not bring another one home? Bean would approve.
