Personally I would LOVE a detolf but I just don't have the room
There's a good few youtubers that have done reviews on the detolf, ErinsAnimals being the one that sold it for me. Apart from the need to make a lid for it it looks like v little work compared to making a bin cage and the biggest bin I personally can get is about 80x50cm, also from IKEA, but you might be able to find bigger if you look around. If you have a dwarfie you might not even need a lid for the detolf either.
There are a lot of videos on making bin cages as well as IKEA hacks, I'd watch a few on each and decide which looks like a better fit for you. Personal recommendations on the forum are great but actually seeing what goes into the process for yourself will make your decision way easier
