The yellow plates kind of hook onto the bars rather than clicking on, they are a bit fiddly. I'd advise putting the connector and the clear blocker on (they just click together but they can be tight sometimes) before you attach it to the cage, I pushed too hard and cracked one of mine!

The toilet litter is fine, I used mine when I ran out of sand. I don't think I'd buy it myself though, I prefer using chinchilla sand.
