We have never had this problem. I know many people will not use dettol but when there has been a sick hamster in the cage previously we feel more secure knowing it has been well disinfected. Fill the bath with warm water and put it back in then take a sponge and scrub it all down to rub the mist off. None of our clear lids have done this. You didn't use a scratchy pad and scratch the plastic did you as this can make the plastic go misty?
