I have noticed that some hamsters will stop and peer over the edges of things and others will do a cartoon run-out-in-the-air-and-fall-straight-down...a la the coyote and the road runner cartoons. Ted E. will stop and so will Almond. Nutmeg...not so much
. It does have to with with poor eyesight, as Esmy says. I guess some hammies see a bit better than others. It does mean that we owners have to keep them safe before the silly furries hurt themselves.
