He`s possibly jammed or caught his toe in something. Check any wooden bendy log bridges if you have any as these can be culprits for catching long claws. If he has pulled a claw or caught a toe, it may just be swollen due to being bruised up/bruised blood and should heal. But as soufflé said, keep a check on it just to be sure. x
