A "teddy hamster" is just a name that pet stores give Syrian Hamsters to make them seem rarer or more special and exclusive. Since there only five domesticated species pet shop
fall over themselves to discover new hamsters that they can sell for a higher price or that will increase intrest.

Your hammie is very lucky. I wish that I was even a little bit as creative as I could never manage to make a cage like that! I have been plan to do a natural themed cage for my hammies- I just haven't got around to it yet...
