That will definitely make him more nervous. I wouldn't worry about him pooing in his nest because they eat that anyway... peeing however should be done in a sand bath. It's unusual for a ham to pee in its nest, though it will sometimes do that if scared to warn off threats. Try as best you can to get him to go potty elsewhere, and if you have to clean out his nest often try and retain as much of the bedding as possible to go back.
