Aubiose is fine and especially for long haired syrians as it does not tangle much. I don't think it is so widely available though and also it's a large bale to store. It is not always suitable for people with allergies and can be more dusty than some beddings. In my experience is is not quite as absorbent either and smell control less good. But yes we still use it
