Re: tree branch
It is recommended only to use fruit tree branches as certain types of trees do contain things that might be toxic should they be chewed. It may have been lying around for a while also and it has been in the dog's mouth so I'd worry about insects, fungus and other bugs in it. Wood needs scrubbed, dryed and baked to make it safe before use.
