Smile No added sugar hamster treat suitable for diabetics!!!

Hi everyone!

I have been searching the internet for ages now, and I decided to give up and experiment with a healthy, no added sugar treat. There are plenty of variables, so you can change it to however you would like it. Here are the ingredients I use:

(To make 4-5 treat balls/bars):
- The white of 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp Harry Hamster (Hazel Hamster in the US)
- 1 tbsp Supreme Hamster Nuggets
- 1 tbsp Trill Budgie Seed
- 1 tbsp Porridge Oats
- Seed + Nut mix
- 1-2 tbsp Plain Flour

Method:
1. (optional) Put your hamsters muesli, nuts and nuggets into a zip-lock bag and bash with a rolling pin to form a coarse powder - this will make your treat bar more dense and will help wear down the hamster's teeth

2. Pour into a bowl along with any seed mixes and the flour.

3. Separate the egg and add the white bit by bit, mixing between additions. Keep adding until it forms a roll-able mixture, then roll into balls on a lightly greased baking tray (grease with vegetable oil). Alternatively, you can use a cookie sheet or cupcake cases.

4. Bake for 5-10mins or until firm. Once baked, allow to cool then place in an air-tight container in the fridge. This should last 1-2weeks.

Expect these treats to not smell too great, as they have no honey or added to sugars to make them smell amazing. Your hamster may not touch these on the first day, but after they have tried it, they will fall in love with it! For Syrians, you can add a few raisins or dried fruit, even some honey (replace some of the egg) for an extra special treat! To make it an interactive game, you can pierce a hole in the treat before baking and thread through some natural string to tie to the cage.

If you try this at home, please leave reviews and tips below. Hope this helped!
