I'm so sorry for your initial loss.
But you totally rock for taking this little one into your care. I second HammieandMerlin on the cloth idea. Whenever I had to administer meds to Roxy (RIP) I used a small towel to basically swaddle her before giving her the syringe. She was usually pretty good about it that way.
