Talking Kiwi's thread

well well well, i have been very busy this sunday afternoon!

some of you may have read that i was pining after initially, a pair of rescue robos to fill my empty zz1. after some brilliant advice from you guys, i decided that rehoming a single robo that needed to live alone was probably best due to space restrictions. i kind of plotted this whole robo thing without the consent of my oh, i made use of the 20% german zooplus sale and bought a few teeny robo sized things and researched robos in my spare time ha anyway, once i put it to him, he said no but that when we had a bigger place, i could have as many as i liked. that was 3 weeks ago. today however, he caved instantly i called my local p@h to ask if there were any robos in the adoption centres...

i was told that there was a 3 month old at wimbledon and another. very vague indeed! there were actually two lone boys when i arrived one 14-15 month old who had been bullied by his cage mate (he had a torn ear) and who had been in the centre since may he broke my heart as i didn't think anyone would take him because he was older. the second, was a 9 month old male who had always lived alone. his owners had moved away and had given him up. poor baby! i had both of them out into my pet carrier to see how they were. the 15 month old was quite calm, almost lethargic about it and incredibly sweet. the 9 month old would NOT be picked up. he made his own entrance by jumping out of his enclosure INTO my pet carrier. and that's where he stayed...

i made the decision to take 'twinkle', the 9 month old and slightly mad robo this is my 2nd rescue named twinkle! something about him made me and my oh know instantly that he was the 'one' for us. my heart is still broken over the older boy though i feel guilty almost for picking a younger one over him. i really hope someone takes him *sniff*

so, please meet, the face and nose of, kiwi the agouti robo (from what i have seen)! he is in the zz1 with lots of his old wood shavings. it was a real struggle to get him out of the pet carrier, he was incredibly stressed. he shot into the wooden house and has only stuck his nose out so far. we will leave him for a few days now to get used to his home and the new environment. the zz1 is 4 times the size of the enclosure he has been in for 3 months. he is petrified of human contact it seems, so i think we have a long road ahead. i hope he will one day be comfortable enough to roam around his cage in my presence i can't wait to get to know him.

his set up (comments welcome, i am a complete robo newb... i have 2 hybrids and they are all i know...)

his face!

scared to death, poor little lamb!
