The leg should heal up as long as you keep him nice and quiet. Keep him in a smallish flat area with nothing to climb on to rest the leg. Give lots of bedding to burrow in and things like loo roll tubes and chew sticks. Milky porridge and a calcium enriched dog biscuit can help the bone heal well. Sometimes they can heal a little crooked but the main thing is to stop any infection by being extra vigilant with the cleaning. Did he get any meds? I expect he feels very sorry for himself and hope he gets well soon.
