Default J-cloths

Although the bedding material looks similiar to J-cloths in that it has a checked pattern it is not made from the same material sadly - or at least wasn't last time I looked - the hamster bedding is made from 100% vegetable fibre which is then shredded into small pieces. It is non-woven so doesn't form strings/threads when chewed and degrades in their stomachs. Of course if I had a hamster who ate lots of this stuff I would not give them it as it doesn't break down as quickly as one ply shredded septic tank safe (unbleached, uncoloured, unperfumed) toilet paper does. You always have to watch your hamster very carefully when using any new product to see his/her reaction and act accordingly.

I have been researching hemp cloth trying to find a 100% natural non-woven one...
