Default Re: scratching in corners

We have a digging box for our Syrian which is attached by a tube to her ZooZone 2. She used to dig at the corners (even got through 3/4 of them!) but we assume it's just because she's always wanted to get out and go exploring rather than being stressed. She's stopped doing it now and still has the freedom to go from 'cage' to digging box and back again whenever she wants.

Just to add, though, after she dug the holes in the box, we took it away from her for a little while and when she got it back she started to block the tubes up but we think that was because it was cleaned out and re-arranged. She's not good with cage cleans. She's fine with it now though.

But I would have to agree that the cage your hamster is in at the moment does sound very small. Best of luck with the uprade (would love a pic of your hamster too!)
