I also agree that baytril is not an option for this condition and it`s better to ask for the surgery there and then if pyo is diagnosed, rather than prolonging things, which can mean the hamster getting sicker. I have a male syrian, but I do have a female chinese hamster and I always worry about pyo in females or blood/discharge appearing from the nether regions.
