Chatango would also not really be an option because anybody can access it.. from the main site.
But yeah, it's been vigorously discussed and the answer is no, the forum is for posting on and having a chat room would require too much moderating and would mean people would probably post less on the forum.
Also, things which were discussed, such as a hamsters illness for example, all the answers would vanish which would mean it wouldn't be there to help somebody in the future
