Hopefully you're all going to think I'm mad but I've only recently lost one hamster so I'm on tender hooks not to let the same happen to this one.

I've noticed that she sometimes sleeps with her head outside of her nest just resting on a ledge (just next to her left paw on the attached pic). Normally hamsters just snuggle up in a ball don't they?

Smudge has a Hamster Heaven cage and has chosen to sleep in the little penthouse on top of the cage so I can see her. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Does anyone else's hamster do this?
