That's great news that you'll be able to give another hamster a good home
but before you run down to the pet shop, have you thought about other places where you can get hamsters? Like rescues, or from a good breeder? Buying from pet shops only encourages production of more hamsters for pet shops - there are plenty of hamsters waiting in rescues for someone like you to give them a new start, or failing that there are many breeders who breed responsibly and with a purpose, and take great care of their hamsters.
