Default Hammy bite + cold vs wet tail

Hi there! My uncle recently told me something about a friend who was bitten by a hamster. He told me that he was told by a friend that she got sick from a hamster's bite. She got this disease (which I have no idea what it's called) and went to the doctor to treat it. According to her, she was given a medicine which was injected on her hands, near the bite.

This friend of my uncle said that hamsters bite and becomes aggressive most especially after getting pregnant. The incident happened after giving birth.

I know that hamsters becomes aggressive and may eat her babies if she is disturbed while giving birth and after giving birth. And that humans should not disturb them for about a week or so. It is that woman's fault that she did not know this things...

I just want to ask if it is true that we can get a disease if we were bitten by a hamster?

*sigh* Right now I am so upset because my mom and my grandma wants me to give my hamsters away after knowing this.

Another thing, what is the difference of a hamster having a cold and the one getting a wet tail?

Thanks! and have a nice day!
