What a good idea to let your water stand over night!!
I also live in Leicester and the water here is vile! I complained a few years ago as my tap water tasted like bleach every morning for months... I eventually managed to get a horrible tasting sample to ST and they confirmed it had 3 times the amount of chlorine it should have!!!!
I drink bottled this days!
