I used the humane traps and drove the mice out to outlying wilderness / fallow farmland areas. They were probably eaten but I feel that it's better to give them a fair shot and provide an owl with a meal. Also, I'd keep them in a terrarium until I had a fair number of them and they are VERY entertaining to watch. They can JUMP!
