Try handling him more it could just be he's not that used to being picked up if he's always inbed. dont mean to go off topic but same things happened to our chickens
they hate being picked up now as haven't done so in agees...
try talking to him loads in a high voice they do like the attention
could just be he's a bit bored or something ...
