George seems to have almost exponentially , though he still is quite a scaredy cat, he would rather run and hide then be befriended,
He is definitely long haired, at times he looks like a crazy punk rocker, other times he looks like he has had a paw in the electric socket. he does do a very adorable Basil Brush pose (young folk ask an old person they will explain),
His ears are quite set wide on his head so he does look very cute when looking at you directly.
Taming is getting to be a very slow process he is slowly getting braver may be in a month he may let me handle him.

Thanks very much, he has grown so much unless it is all fur, his fur is growing well and looks good, but I need to get him properly tamed so I can groom his fur as necessary. it is quite funny the way it sticks out in such crazy ways..

So when I got home from work this morning, a usual I had a look in at George to see what he was doing, well his cage looked like a bomb had hit it, turmoil was an understatement, I wondered what he had been up to, his wheel was tipped over and the fitch substrate was all over the place.
I called out to him as I heard him scratching about, all went quiet then a minute or so later there was a Disturbance in the Fitch, up popped a head in the middle of his cage, so it seemed that he has been burrowing all over not just under his nest area, this lad doesn't cease to suprise me at the moment .

Haha! I think you're going to have your hands full with this one! You'll have to George proof everything starting with bolting down the wheel.

Thank you Ria,
Maybe George will give Monty some ideas......

Anyhoo, George being quite the oddment that he is, the other day he let me stroke him didn't seem bothered at all, then last night we was having a wild night running for his Hamsterthon he would go at it for an hour straight before stopping then off he would go all night at his endeavours.
He was super skitterish and would go no where near me just bolt off some where safe with such speed it was quite un nerving.
Tonight he hasn't ventured out just for some fresh food, he has stayed put in his burrow complex.
I am going to resort to the tissue up the sleeves trick, never had to do this before, but as he is a long haired little hippy hamster he really needs to be tamed so I can help keep him groomed, well he may meet a lady some time and he needs to look his best...

George I'm sure used to be a mole in another life the way he burrows under his fitch substrate.... He is still twitchy so the taming process is going oh so slowly, even with the Rads scented loo roll bedding....

It can take a while with some young hamsters I'm sure he'll stop feeling nervous as he gets a bit more mature. Newt was like this when he first came home with me but became quite gregarious. He sounds like a digger though!

George Update,

He is still easily spooked, he can sit and watch me, but one tiny movement and he is off like a speeding bullet, other times he will allow me to stroke him for a short time, then he realises what is going on and scoots off into his tubes..
He is still burrowing like a demon , loves his fresh foods has a particular like for peas and blueberries and he is still growing and this rate he is going to be quite the Hamstersaurus...!

Hello all,
George update, he is still scared of anything, I'm thinking of calling him "Chicken George" I removed his tunnel the other day for cleaning and he got rather distressed , he does need some where he can scoot off too when spooked which is at any time..
he has developed a new habit which is to sit on one of his corner shelves and poo so it falls out side of his cage.
Not much else to report still trying to get him tame enough for normal handling etc.
