Syrian Hamster making a 'cooing' / quiet bird tweeting sound?
Hi Everyone,
My hamster Flo moved into her IKEA Linnmon Cage over a week ago, she has over 850 square inches of space and everything in her home is totally hamster safe.
She's super friendly and loves out of cage time. She's eating, drinking, active, and has no signs of stress or illness at all. Tonight I got her out of her cage a few times, and on the last time I noticed that she was being really vocal. She wasn't hissing, chirping or squeaking, but she was making a very quiet cooing sound, almost like a bird twittering / tweeting? But really quiet. I could only hear it when I put her to my ear. She was climbing over me, her ears were up and she had the same expression she always does when she's exploring.
I know that hamster sounds are super important.
I read into hamster respiritory sounds and it's nothing like those either (no clicking / sneezing or wheezing). There's not much info on a sound like this so I thought I'd ask you guys. Should I be concerned at all or is this simply a happy and content sound? She was making it the whole time she was out, so all I can do is check tomorrow and see if she continues to do it.
Thanks so much for your help!

Hamsters can be quite vocal, it sounds like a contented happy sound to me.

Yup, Dora used to 'coo' when she was happy and my new boy (2 days in!) makes chirrups whilst he's sleep!
