Re: Pickle's Thread
Thank you Rads You always take amazing hamster pics Pickle is a different personality to Newt - more laid back and less active generally, but once out of the cage he enjoyed exploring. Reminds me a bit of Charlie who would just sit and pose sometimes.

Re: Pickle's Thread
He's a lucky lad having a really nice cage setup like that! Lots of stimulation in there for him.

Re: Pickle's Thread
Thank you. I had to add a few more bits after initial set up so the space didn't scare him - he has a big cork log in the middle of the cage now and an extra bendy bridge in front of the house.

Another lovely boy Serendipity, congrats! He really is a gorgeous colour & it's lovely to see his character coming out, really enjoyed catching up with all the great photos.

Re: Pickle's Thread
I love the pics from Pickle's Christmas shoot, he looks so adorable and supersweet.
Where did you get the unit that holds the 2 cages from?

Re: Pickle's Thread
Thank you Lizzy. Found it online - from Wayfair. I couldn’t find anything the right length at IKEA. It was two do two things - smarten up the living room and have 2 100 cages in the living room. It’s nice but makes the bottom cage a lot darker inside (which a hamster might prefer). I have to pull that cage out a bit to do anything in it but Moo is very tidy with his toilet ting so I can spot clean with the cage in place. The bottom cage had to be the front opening one though!

Re: Pickle's Thread
Pickle has got into quite a routine and is often out and about in the mornings and likes to have a bit of breakfast. He enjoyed porridge on a teaspoon the other morning and then kept trying to bite the teaspoon so seemed to want more! He has grown into a gorgeous big fluffy boy and likes to talk through the bars sometimes, but he is not as gregarious as Newt, who used to sit at the cage door to want to come out. Pickle is more of a sleepyhead in the evenings and needs more persuasion. But he is so sweet. He is more a morning hamster!
As I discovered on his night time video, he tends to get up about 5am and is quite happy to be out and about while we're around. But the sound of us coming down the wood stairs scares him a bit (his cage is under the stairs!) Hopefully he will get used to that.

Re: Pickle's Thread
Henry has a couple of shallow egg cups from The Range shop which is ideal for his dollop of porridge because i can sink the stand into the substrate.
Serendipity, some more photos of Pickle and Moo would be muchly appreciated.

Re: Pickle's Thread
Nice idea! Yes I have not been taking many photos recently and must do so! I did try to take one of Moo the other night but the light was a bit dim and I only had my phone handy! I might leave the nightcam on again for a while - during the day it films in colour. It's that January thing where you are straight back into everything! Plus I did my back recently so lost the plot with taking photos! Ouch - it's gradually improving.
