I got those from ranchouse cages on ebay - they actually screw to the bars or you can just have them as normal bendy bridges. They weren't that cheap - about £7.50 each. Makes a good ladder substitute though and I got fed up of finding bendy bridges with sharp bits and splinters - these are smooth wood. Unfortunately the ebay seller is having problems getting hold of them now and said they might go up in price or only be sold as a pack with some shelves or something.

At the moment they just sell the screw on bendy bridge with these two small ledge shelves for £12.99. But those little ledges are nice too - I've used those to make steps before The wood shelves came from there as well a couple of years ago. They used to sell a shelf pack with various sizes of shelf. Limited supply of those right now as well due to this virus situation.

The whole cage upgrade thing was partly because I am swapping the Plaza for the Barney (someone is picking up the Barney next week) and partly as a treat to myself after a difficult patch recently. As well as Pickle growing large and I thought he'd appreciate the upgrade. Retail therapy and setting up cages helps - but I probably spent a bit too much. Luckily I had most of the cage items already.

ah ive seen those in my browsing. They'd be too small for the ratties... they dont seem to do the medium version in rainbow.. i guess the natural colour hides the crap the ratties drag over it

A treat for you/them is perfectly valid, moreso during these times. I have just treated the boys to a new halloween hammock set and its costing me a tad more as ive had to customise the design to help my old man ratty who has the equiv of arthritis in a back leg... but it makes me happy seeing him be able to still access the places he likes.. and the halloween print makes me happy!

I always intended to invest in a barney, i love the front doors but it isnt much bigger than the old criceti i have tbh and im not sure ill be having a hammy again now. It is a nice cage though, sure Pickle will be tickled!

When I get chance to upload them I have a couple of videos of Pickle in the cage. The first when he was exploring it, the second with the nightcam last night. He likes the cage and seems to have settled straight away. Set up isn’t much different to before really apart from the extra big shelf. But the house and wheel are both new. Just goes to show if they prefer the new wheel they don’t miss the old one!

The wheel is absolutely fine. I bashed and scraped it against the shelves when fitting them and the paint is rock solid - no chips etc.

Haha!!! I love that! A treat for yourself.... perfume, new clothes, a fancy meal out?.....oh no, its a new hamster cage!

Pickle's new cage looks fab!! I love that set up, especially the right hand side with all the different levels and hidey holes. The hemp mats make it look very warm and cozy, they're a great idea.

Cute photo of Pickle looking out of the cork log.

So pleased that Pickle has taken to his new cage so happily. Yet another wonderful cage set up Serendipity and I agree with Ria, great photo of him.

Excellent timing over the tumble dryer!

Yes it is desperately needed Coco - although today was a good line drying day. No such thing as perfume here! My last gift to myself was a lawnmower lol.

Yes Pickle looked so despondent going back into his old cage I had to move him the next night and get it all finished. He absolutely loves the silent runner. I suppose it’s the enclosed aspect.

A couple of short videos of Pickle exploring the Savic Plaza the day before he moved in. I had just woken him up about 6pm and in the first two he was a bit dopey having just woken up (hence ears down). He then went in the house and slept for3 hours! The last one he had woken up and was more active and alert and having a good explore -and found the "pig" hide, which as I suspected was a bit small for him! So I swapped it out for the salt pig which was a good size.
