Re: Pickle's Thread
Just take him out. He should be fine to just pick up. The other two brother and sister who left at the weekend have been out so I'm sure Pickle will be just fine as well.

Thank you Souffle Yes will do. He will soon stop being scared! I lifted the roof of his house yesterday and he shot off to the other end, but time to come out now
Just realised the wheel won't fit in with the tube there! Never mind I can sort that out when I put the wheel in permanently.

Re: Pickle's Thread
Ria - the wheel will go in front of the rear shelves (measured it out) although realise I have partly blocked that bit now by the roof tube, but will sort that out when I put the wheel in.
Here he is. He had made a nest on top of his toilet He had 15 minutes or so out of the cage and some handling. When I put him back in I made a bit of a noise with the house roof and he shot off and has disappeared under the bedding somewhere! He is still a bit skitty in his new cage but I'm sure that will settle - maybe the cucumber will tempt him out of hiding now but I shall leave him for tonight now probably unless he appears later.

Re: Pickle's Thread
He is absolutely adorable!
I wonder if Pickle has inherited any of his great uncle Newt's characteristics like nest building skills and a passion for hoards.
Ok, there's room for improvement when it comes to the location of his nest but he built one so well done Pickle!

Re: Pickle's Thread
Thank you. He was a bit skitty after something made a noise last night and hid, but later saw his little head pop out of his house roof so he was back in there.
He has clearly been having fun in the night - this morning he had moved his rainbow bridge halfway along the shelf!

Re: Pickle's Thread
Pickle had some playpen time tonight. He does his "ostrich" thing in the cage when I get him out - sticks his head under the substrate thinking you can't see him
He explored a bit in the playpen. He hasn't quite got the hang of the wheel yet ha ha. Still a bit cautious. He runs quite slowly so the wheel swings backwards and forwards - he hasn't quite got the wheel running all the way round. I'm sure that will come soon as he gains in confidence and runs a bit faster.
He skidded about a bit on the saucer as well. But enjoyed discovering the donut bed . It's interesting that he is a slightly different personality to Newt at the same age. Newt was always highly active. Pickle seems slightly more cautious but he enjoyed his time out. Both Moo and Pickle have got Mr Woodfield pine cone trees covered in chewable treats (oats etc) and neither of them has touched it! Newt demolished his overnight! But Newt was a little hoover.
Pickle is lovely - a bit shy still but seems to be enjoying his cage at night. Hoping now he's been in the wheel in the playpen he will want to keep coming out to go on it again. Here he is.
