Re: Star The Hamster
It is a lovely photo She looks very content curled up in it as well. It is hard when they start ageing but she sounds to be slowing down in a nice way. I start giving softened food about this age - some baby food and soaked science selective - as well as their regular hamster mix. They often eat the softened food. The science selective contains all the nutrients if they're not eating much and they like the baby food and just lick it up.

Re: Star The Hamster
Thanks Cypher and Serendipity.
Serendipity, I already give her mushed up pellets, babyfood and oats..
Glad you mentioned the science selective as I just got some and I hadn't thought to mush that up as well so thanks. Yes, she is loosing weight no matter what food I give her, but she is very old. She loves nibbling on her biscrock biscuits and walnuts, so when she wants she will eat the hard stuff lol

Re: Star The Hamster
Aw - she is in her twilight years isn't she. Sorry I know you know all the things to do . Moo is like that too - he is getting some softened food now but he will still attack a monkey nut!

Ha, no I don't always know all the things to do which is why I am glad you mentioned the science selective. Oh yes, forgot about the monkey nuts, Star is partial to them still. Twinkle on the other hand it's like he has no idea what they are he just leaves them scattered around his cage.

Re: Star The Hamster
Thanks Josie
Serendipity she wolfed down the soft squishy science selective - yayh, even twinkle was taking them off me as fast as he could last night and he is not normally like that, he just wants out of his cage and worries about food later

Do you crack the monkey nut a little so Twinkle gets the smell of it?
