Introducing Star
SURPRISE!!!!I have a new hamster (although I am sure some of you already guessed (Ria!!!!)
My new hammy is called Star (do not worry I still have Luna)
Oh boy, I have been busting to share this news with you all. I had to wait a month to get her and then I have waited a month to introduce her on my Youtube channel.
I adopted her from Austins Hamster Rescue in Doncaster.
So, the story goes Luna is getting old and was less active, and rarely coming out of her cage. Turns out part of this is due to her being ill, so she is a little bit more active again. So, I was left twiddling my thumbs on a night, so I thought what if I get another hamster but make sure she is a baby or younger than what Luna was when I got her, in the hopes that I get to have longer with them than I will with Luna. So I told the rescue what I was looking for and I knew they had a few babies coming up for adoption. There were a few other hamsters I was interested in as well but everytime I asked after them they had found new homes already. In the end the lady that runs the rescue sent me pics of the 3 girl syrians she had left along with the babies. Well, Star was first and what did it say she was 18 months but more like 2 years. I was like oh no, can I cope with another older hamster, long story short it ended up between Star and a baby female, I asked is it hard to place older hamsters, she said yes but not to let that sway me. I said. it’s a no brainer I will take her.
It was only afterwards that I realised she was one of the rescues that had been living in one of those under the bed storage box in a hoarding situation and covered in ants. Males and females together.
As my friend said the heart wants what the heart wants and I guess Star was meant to be and she will be spoilt rotten from now on after the horrific life she has had. (Ria this is why I said go with your heart)
I’m just very happy to give this little old lady (although you wouldn't know it) an awesome home for the rest of her life.
If you want to know what she looks like, check out this video.

I will try and upload some photos later but i need to make them smaller first.

What a little sweetheart! And I love the black coloring near her neck. Also heartwarming to think she’s finally going to experience a good home. Good for you!

Re: Introducing Star
Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments. Star is certainly a little character and she is sooo tiny, especially compared to Luna; she only weighed abut 97g i think it was when she was rescued. The rescue got her up to about 135g, and she's put about another 10g on in the time i have had her. My favourite things are the way she sniffs things to check them out, she is kind of fearless considering what she has been through, the way she cleans her head is so darn cute, because it all gets fluffed up and scrunched on top of her head. I will be including that in a video at somepoint, I will try to remember to leave a link to it on here so you can check the cuteness out. It makes me think of a little fluffy bear.
