Post Bigger cage, less interaction

Hiya, I upgraded Georgie's my female syrians cage about a month ago and although she seems much happier and healthier since being in her bigger cage, I've noticed she isn't as interested in coming out to go in her playpen or for being petted. She's still happy to be petted within her cage and still let's me give her food from my hand and she still let's me take her out of her cage when I need to clean her hides but doesn't really want to play with anything in her playpen and seems to want to just get straight back into her cage. I was wondering whether it's normal for her to not want as much interaction now she has more enrichment and space in her cage whereas before she seemed desperate to get out of her smaller cage.

This can happen, yes. On the positive side she is enjoying the enrichment in her cage. You may need to get her into a routine of coming out at a certain time of day - eg early or mid evening feeding time - tempting her into a tube if necessary. To keep up the interaction. They do still enjoy it when out of the cage. If she is wanting to go straight back she may still be adjusting to the cage move and a bit clingy about her cage. Also it’s very cold weather at the moment and they can hide away more to keep warm and cozy.

Oh ok thank you, I didn't think about the fact it's winter. I've noticed she seems to always wake up for a few hours around lunchtime then settle again until the evening. I'm not sure if this is normal. I don't think it's me disturbing her as I will be sat at my desk working quietly for a few hours then I'll see her roaming around. I'm not sure why she does this as she's in a routine that she gets fed and fresh water every evening around 6pm when she's awake. I will try getting her out more and getting her used to it again.
