They are adorable!!
I love the names! Although Goose also makes me think Top Gun, and that maybe you need another hamster named Maverick

Well, he is named after the Flerkin-Cat from Captain Marvel who is named for Top Gun so, kinda? Have to admit I've never seen Top Gun because I can't stand Tom Cruise lol
As soon as I type out that Goose is a happy wee man he starts biting the mesh on the detolf. I don't know if the extra bedding just gave him that boost he needed to reach it or if the cage change has him a bit stressed. I know he bar-chewed in his old cage because he's worn the paint off a whole corner but this is a first for him with me. He's hella good at it, I can nearly feel the noise in my teeth.

Re: Shan-hams - Sipping on Jin and Goose
Goose has also learned to climb up the back of the radiator. He either followed her scent trail up there (she's v much in heat this evening) or I think the most likely option, they've been squeaking naughty ideas across the room at each other when I'm asleep.
The chunkyhams both got weighed this evening too. Jin is a solid 198g and Goose a much less imposing 140g. Me and my partner guessed 120g for him because he looks like half the ham.
I want to try weighing Pico but I might need those tiny scales people use for illicit substances. I'd like to know her value in terms of premium... Baking powder.

Haha. Dig that girl! Lovely, lively hamsters.
I really like the natural look of your set ups. Are the bits of gnarled wood from the reptile or fish or bird section of a pet shop? I have also seen greenery bits in hamster cages here but don't know what's suitable for hamsters.

Thanks! They're cork logs from zooplus, I'm very pleased with them. I think they are usually in reptile sections. They were a bit filthy when they came so I did have to give them a brush down but they're just decorative they don't seem to chew on them or anything. Would recommend!

Thanks. I'll have a look at them. Did you have to dry the eco earth in the microwave before offering it to Jin?

Did enjoy those reactions. No harm in being cautious at first but dig, dig dig....lots of good exercise going on there. However...that Yorkie bar box in the background??? Left over from Easter???
