Dorothea's Thread

My first ever hamster (and pet) moved in the other day. So far she's explored her cage and tried her new toys. The first two days she mostly stayed inside her little house, but today (day three) she has been a lot more active. I have even had the pleasure to hand feed her. She nibbled a little on my hand but quickly realized I'm not food.

Dorothea is the cutest little thing. She is named after the great Italian biathlete Dorotea Wierer. This is her last night:

I have since given her twice as much bedding and she seems to like it a lot better.

Thank you! She just climbed over my hand a few times. I think she's getting more comfortable. Now I'm gonna leave her for tonight and let her do hamster things. Hopefully she'll be ready to leave her cage in a few days.

Thanks everyone! Today she's let me pet her properly and my friend who met her for the first time got to hand feed her. I'm so proud of my good, polite little girl <3
