Default Is it normal... ?

I had 2 syrian who born at 21/aug/2018. its mean they are 1 month old. I had have them for 3 weeks now. But they never want to be tamed, or maybe I am to scared?

I think they can feel my presence now, as whenever I approached them, I can feel that they already waiting for, as they usually stand with their back feet and looking for me. When I open the door at their room, they will automatically face the plastic window, where they can see through the door from their cage. Then they will stand with their back feet, just like a baby waiting to be hold. Hehehe.

But they always dodge my hand. They wont come near my hand unless I am holding a food. All I can do is just stroke them gently when they are eating or sleeping

Am I done sth wrong?? I always wash my hand before touching them. Even after feeding them.

Do you take them out for taming sessions?
You need a hamster safe play area like a playpen or some people use the bath (plug in & a towel in the bottom!) with some toys for them to explore, you can then sit with them & let them climb on you & slowly get used to your hands, maybe just running over your hands to begin with then slowly work up to them sitting on your hand & you holding them.
If you haven't been taking them out of the cage you may need to find something they will climb into like a tube, ball or large mug that you an safely transport them in.
If they will take food from your hand & you can stroke them then you are making good progress, with a little work & some patience they will become tamer in time.
Remember females do tend to be a bit more hyper than males & are less likely to just want to sit still for cuddles, they're more likely to want to be running around exploring & having fun!

i found playing with mine on the stairs is fun and a good way to bond with him. this will probably only work if your stairs are carpeted, that way they have some grip on to the carpet if they want to climb the stairs. maybe you should take them out one by one to start with? i don't know. i've only had a syrian hamster so i don't know about groups of hamsters

those are some very young hamsters. i wouldn't worry about it too much at this point. had they been handled before you got them? if no, it's normal for taming to take longer. they don't know what's happening.

also, how long do you try? and having them come only if you have a treat is natural. will they sit on your hand and eat? if not, try something a little bigger you can grip onto to try and tempt them to stay put.

You definitely don't want them just free ranging! If you can't buy a playpen you could have a go at making one, apart from taming it's good for them to have out of cage time & new things to explore.

Sorry I didn't make it clear but only get one out at a time, not both together.
