Re: Wonder's Thread
I was holding Wonder for a while on my lap this evening.
My winter coat was on the bed next to me so I placed her on it for a moment while I did something and she quickly found a crevice to nestle into, and so I seized the opportunity for a little photo shoot.
Enjoy!

Re: Wonder's Thread
Wonder Mae looks so snug & cosy. That little pink gorgeous nose is the first thing you see, I love her little nose, the last pic is super cute with her having a little stretch.

Aww! What a bundle of cuteness! She looks so comfy! This is perfect for winter! She looks like she is waving in the last one,”Hi Wonder!”

Re: Wonder's Thread
Wonder looks so cute in her coconut hide plus very cosy snuggled up in your winter coat. I especially love the photo of her stretching!

Re: Wonder's Thread
Hi all,
Sorry for the lack of update lately.
WM seems to wake up later and later. Often I don't hear her until 2 or 3 am, if I haven't coaxed her out earlier in the night. If when she has been awake while I still am, she isn't very eager to come out. She mostly ignores me unless i'm hand delivering fresh food!!
When she is out, she flits between seeming more confident with being handled and reverting back to being very easily spooked and unfamiliar.
And she still has a squeaky, stuffy sounding nose! She isn't having many pronounced bouts (that i've noticed - but i've seen less of her lately so who knows).
It's more just a constant minor snuffle...
I'm convinced it's a congenital abnormality and there's probably nothing that can be done about it (still considering going to an exotic specialist to get a 2nd opinion but she is completely fit and well other than that symptom)
I'm finding bonding with her quite challenging. She is disinterested in most things other than food and her wheel.

Re: Wonder's Thread
Great photos, she's so beautiful & full of character! It's a shame she's getting up late & not so keen on interacting at the moment, fingers crossed that will change with time.
What you said about the snuffles makes sense, hard to know for sure isn't it but it does sound very likely, she certainly looks healthy anyway.

Honestly, I can relate SO much. My hamster Paprika is confident and curious, he's got tons of energy.
BUT the one thing we can't seem to get consistent is his taming. Day by day he can go from completely "tame" to jumpy and hesitant. I've got the same routine for interacting with him and I always take it back to previous taming steps to accommodate him! But it is frustrating to feel unsure whether your hamster trusts you or whether you're doing something wrong. Patience and understanding has really been key for me!
